Music is my heart, and it gives me my soul!!
Been on Grammy Nom Consideration lists 3 times, had a HOTAC Top40 song, but that stuff just gives me something to talk about, anyone can do it. My dream is not to be rich from my music. I don't need to be a household name. I just want to be respected as an artist and successful enough to wake up one morning and tell my wife she doesn't have to go to work anymore!!!
a smile and a handshake. I wish everyone could do that!! I would try to convince everyone that we all have different beliefs and opinions and that it's ok to differ, but it's not ok to hate those who differ from you! Tolerance!! Could i change the world with that? Well? It would be good start!!
When I was growing up my Dad used to play all of the standards artists. I grew up listening to Sinatra, Goulet, Torme, Tony Bennett,,,etc etc. The one song I will always remember the most is "Merry Christmas to You" when sung by Nat King Cole Strange eh?...what a voice that man had!!!
Lifehouse, David Cook, Gin Blossoms, Rembrandts, Tonic
My mind and my heart work together, all day and all night, i write what comes out of them. A small glass of bourbon on ice also helps a bit.
Life is a song! Doesn't matter what kind of song. Every person on earth goes thru their days with a beat, a hook, a tune, a humm in their heads. Music is like a Merry-Go-Round at an amusement park. My message? It turns the world! Ride it!!
there is nothing I can say, no words to describe or give justice to the feeling of being on stage playing my music. But i will say that being on stage gives me that short moment when I don't have to be anyone else but myself!
The world we musicians live in, evolves and changes almost daily. Are they good changes, some yes, some not. What can be improved in an individual musician's world is all interpretative. Many things can be improved. However, most of them are dependent upon our own particular situations or issues with the industry. Knowing i cannot change things around me or outside of my ability, I constantly work on improving myself and the things I CAN change!!
So far?....I'm totally digging it!!
There are many things in my life that I am frustrated with, but I can truly say none of them frustrate me as a musician
Collaboration, and going out to support local bands every chance I get. I also will mix any local bands tracks for them, help produce them and I don't charge them anything. It's tough to get started and I've been at this for far too long and have stood in those same shoes. I'll help any of them.
persistence!! And being able to think out of the box! What works for some may not be what works for others,,find the one thing that works for you that helps you get it out there and stick with it until you're blue in the face!!!
