My friends describe me as weird but aren't all Artists. I wouldn't be me If I didn't see the world though a different lens.
Music is a pharmakon, a necessary evil to express suppressed emotions and let the shadow lead.
To be able to make a living out of music. To meet other people with the same passion and real my full potential.
Always start with your self, you will never change the world. Your corner of the world is the only one you can hope to change.
Too many to name. If I was forced to choose I would pick the first one that comes to mind, Skid Row "18 and Life to go" "Your crime is time and it's eighteen and life to go" then Morbid Angel, 'Prayer of Hatred' in close second. "Your Will, empty promises you can't fulfill."
Falling in Reverse, earlier Bring me The horizon, nothing else comes to mind at the moment.
Something inside, an innate need.
That anything is possible if you apply your mind to it hard enough, it's self actualization.
Like I am being me.
A musicians reality today is a game of chess. You have to know the right moves to make in order to be heard in the endless noise. You start off as a pawn and if you make it to the end you can become a queen and take on the king.
When I saw Drooble I was intrigued and it is what I have been looking for TBH. The endless promotions that you get offered from people who don't even listen to you music is diabolical. It is tit for tat, you scratch my back I'll scratch yours, you play and comment on my track I will on yours. I think that constructive criticism should be sent privately though. There is no need to publicise it, the artist probably knows their weakness and everyone has to work through that in order to improve, some take longer than others.
Promotions. I want to make music and get it heard. The rest is just glitter, to make the packaging appealing but wants inside is what counts, the product finished or almost there.
I'm afraid I have never been much of a follower of the herd mentality. I would like to be able to conform more and I am working on it, but more often than not I feel it stumps my creativity as I am just trying to be and sound like everything else. It all about creating a balance. You need to have a business mind, take Eminem for example did he sell out when he became more recognisable, probably not. I'd say he was smart. Now he get's to do his more darker rap and people will listen.
They should be likable and appreciate anyone who takes the time to listen to them and engage with fans. There is also a side that is more ruthless where you have to pay the game. back to chess. Or more accurate the game of go as you are trying to take as much territory as possible, more than your opponents.
