Antonio

Story

My name is Antonio. I'm 20 years old, Mexican, and a big fan of comics. When I'm off my nerd shift, I enjoy writing stories, as well as making music on Garageband on my phone. I hope you like what I've made, and if not, then I will find you and do absolutely nothing about it.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is an extension of my soul. It's my way of expressing myself besides writing, which is my main hobby. To me, music is something sacred and special, it's what carried me through some of the worst times and blessed me through some of the best. I don't know where I would be without it. But one thing is sure, I have no interest in a career, or prestige, all I want is to be able to share this piece of me to everyone.

What is your music dream?

Don't have one. Although I would like my music to be easily accessible to all my friends in the community. That's good enough for me.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

The people.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Anything from Linkin Park.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Linkin Park and Son Lux

What inspires you to make music?

The drive to create. To feel. To express. To share.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Not all of my music has a specific message. However, my message in general would be this: Don't let anyone deny your artistry. You may not have a record label, a studio, or even equipment. But, if you make music on an iPhone like me, well congrats my boy, you're officially a musician, and no one can say otherwise.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I've yet to do so.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

My lack of professional experience means that I can't fully understand this question to give an honest answer. However, loads and loads of small and big musicians get bamboozled by the industry, so one improvement I'd like to see is more appreciation for the artist themselves, rather than the label that hired them. They deserve fair compensation for their work.

What do you think of Drooble?

I dunno, just got it. But it seems pretty cool so far.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Timing and Synchrony. And sometimes I find difficulty in coming up with new melodies.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I'd like to, and I'd do it by attending concerts and buying their products.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Anyone should have these qualities: Determination, Discipline, Efficiency, Creativity, Productivity, etc.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

Check out The Currently Classic, they're pretty good.
