Andrew Ash is a Pop singer/songwriter, based in Portland, Oregon. Influenced by powerhouse producers and songwriters, like Max Martin and Diane Warren, Andrew pulls inspiration from late 1980’s dance-floor hits, and the Pop songs of MTV’s TRL generation, to create his modern, yet nostalgic, sound. Andrew began his love of singing at the age of five, and though it was Martin and Warren who ignited the fire in him to write his own pop songs, it was the strong, female, artists of the late 1990’s, like The Spice Girls and Britney Spears, that helped him discover his passion for performing. “When I was twelve, I used to watch the “…Baby One More Time” music video on repeat until I learned the entire dance routine. I didn’t know I could dance, or wanted to dance, until that moment.” In 2005, Andrew moved to Los Angeles, where he recorded his first EP “Grudges” and had his music featured on MTV’s “The Hills” and “Jersey Shore.” After an eight-year stint in L.A., he moved back to Portland, where he continues to make music, perform, and fine tune the “feel good vibe” of his current sound; which harkens back to his love of 80’s and 90’s Pop hits.

I'm inspired by humor.
Don't take life so seriously.
I think it's probably what a vampire feels like when they're drinking blood.
You can't just be the musician, you have to be the manager, the agent, the booker, the social media manager, and the art director.
I'm still discovering it.
Having to be the manager, the agent, the booker, the social media manager, and the art director, all while balancing a full time job.
Yes, I do this by showing up for my fellow musicians when they have shows and post about their music on social media.
Thick skin and a clear path.
