Story

In the course of his career this versatile composer has engaged with various musical genres, composing and orchestrating music and songs for theatre, cinema, television and discography. Given to exploring new sounds and blending genres, each project is a source of inspiration and emotions to transform into music. Affinity with with the director, artist or singer concerned is the necessary starting point for every new project, in order to best translate feelings into appropriate music for the project as a whole. Born in Rome, he graduated in Composition, Orchestration and Orchestral Conducting Techniques at the Royal Philarmonic Academy of Bologna. In 1985 began working as composer, musician and conductor on the development of numerous musicals, television programmes and feature films. He has worked alongside many authors, directors and Italian artists, such as Pietro Garinei, Armando Trovajoli, Nicola Piovani, Riz Ortolani, Claudio Mattone, Enrico Montesano, Rodolfo Laganà and Enrico Brignano. He won the award for best soundtrack in 1995 for the documentary Angela of the Deep at the World Festival of Underwater Films d’Antibes. In 1999 he collaborated with Francis Ford Coppola as music consultant for the Illy Coffee promotional video. He was musical assistant in 2001 for Sting’s live recording of On Such a Night. He then composed soundtracks for films, television and theatre, creating over twenty musical comedies as composer and musician. Of these Clare of God (Chiara di Dio) by Carlo Tedeschi, has been performed on a permanent basis in Assisi for over ten years. During the 2014-2015 season he was composer and musician for three plays Evolushow by Enrico Brignano, Nudo Proprietario by Rodolfo Laganà and Tutto dipende da me... o quasi by Paola Tiziani Cruciani, Gianni Quinto and Marco Rea. He also composed the soundtrack for the film A Dark Rome by Andrés Rafael Zabala, gathering various important international awards such as: Honorable Mention Award at festival L.A. Neo Noir Film Festival of Los Angeles 2014; Nominated – TIFVA at the Toronto International Film and Video Awards 2014; Nominations Best Feature, Director, Supporting Actor and Winner of the Best Cinematography prize at the New York Macabre Faire Film Festival 2015. The film also featured at the Fantafestival 2015 in Rome and at the Marbella International Film Festival 2015. He composed the soundtrack for Raffaello Sasson’s short film Fragments, featured in important Italian and international festivals and runner-up at the Burbank International Film Festival 2015 in Los Angeles, Toronto Film Week Film Festival 2016 – Canada, Los Angeles Cinefest 2016 - USA, Ozark Shorts Film Festival 2016 – USA, Industryboost Competition 2016 – USA, The Modcon London Film Festival 2016 – England, Silicon Valley International Film Festival 2016 – USA, The European Independent Film Award 2016 - France. He is also engaged as music consultant and percussion coach in the MGM remake of Ben Hur, directed by Timur Bekmambetov and starring Morgan Freeman. In 2017 he becomes the composer for shows in Oltremare Amusement Park (Costa Entertainment) and creates together with Elena Ronchetti (Director and Coreographer) Dream – Lo spettacolo della natura (on show in the dolphin lagoon) and a musical for the Oltremare Theatre entitled Firefly. The show wins the Parksmania Awards 2017 as the “Best Italian Amusement park Indoor Show” Award. Recent compositions are for “Due donne in fuga” (written by Mario Scaletta and interpreted by Iva Zanicchi and Marisa Laurito) and for “Quattro donne e un mascalzone” presently in theatres with Corinne Clery, Barbara Bouchet, Marisa Laurito and Gianfranco D’Angelo. For this soundtrack, in 2017 he won the Award of Excellence at the Southern Short Awards (USA) He received an Official Award nominations for the soundtrack of "Fragments" at the 4th Miami Annual WideScreen Festival 2018
