Anabasi Road

Bio

Anabasi Road are a Rock band from Reggio Emilia. They came together at the end of 2009, impelled by the desire to express themselves giving free rein to their creativity. The idea came from Andrea Giberti (vocals) and Massimiliano Braglia (guitars), then joined by Nicholas Corradini (drums), Andrea Pini (bass), Luca Orlandini (keyboards) and Alex Gambarelli (guitars), determining the initial composition of the group. As soon as the band was completed, they began writing the first songs. Their musical background and the tastes of each one of them were (and still are) very different, so the creation of the tracks worked without any restrictions or references. That is why today it is difficult to frame Anabasi Road into one musical current, if not the most broad, the "Rock" -given the typical Rock formation, which consists of two guitars, keyboards, bass, drums and vocals. The first two years were characterized by profound arrangements, the tracks are often rearranged and, for personal reasons, Pini had to leave the band. Riccardo Vecchi, through his friendship with Braglia, joined the group as the new bassist. The arrival of Vecchi marked a turning point for the group: the songs were definitely finalized, characterized by accurate arrangements that do not take away space to immediacy, and modern and aggressive tonal associations appeared in the tracks, which will become the signature of Anabasi Road, who found in this sound their own sound. The opportunities of playing grew, particularly in the home province and nearby, in cities like Modena, Piacenza and Verona. The evolution of the group reached its peak in mid-2013, when on July the 3rd they entered the Kaboom Studio to record their first self-produced album. Some concerts delayed the timing of mixing and printing, and the result was able to be appreciated only on June the 13th, 2014, release date of the album that bears the name of the band. To take care of the recordings, mix and master was Luca Giorgio Pretorius (drummer of What a Funk!?), which it is possible to recognize the minuteness and accuracy of the work, thanks to which the opera can be expressed at best. In the absence of a label, in the first month the group became known through the web and selling the album privately. Both the public response that the critics were high-level (more than 1000 copies sold since its debut). They participated in music competitions as the “Concorso Liber@mente” in Quattro Castella (Reggio Emilia), getting the second place in the edition of 2012 and the second place in "Krisis Band Contest" in Carpi (Modena), in 2015. The 5th of May 2016 "Ages", the new EP of the band, is released. From "Ages" it is taken the videoclip of the first single, "What Does It Mean?"
