The lack of support for the local scene in certain areas

I attend gigs as much as possible but even I am guilty of this due to a limit of time

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Probably sex appeal or a lottery ticket Make cat videos on youtube with music
