Story

Million High 5's are a collective of East Kilbride musicians coming together as a vehicle for the songs of John Mullen. Sounds simple, but things are never that straightforward. Let's go back to the late 80's to Glasgow's then thriving Indie scene where Mullen was a regular on the stages and in the recording studios, both as a member of the Honey Church and in demand session guitarist. Things were good until a mysterious injury forced Mullen out of the game. The years went by with their usual pressures with Mullen gradually recovering over time. Suddenly in the winter of 2015 Mullen felt a burning desire to demolish his harden shed and built a wooden recording studio in it's place, toiling alone through the harsh weather. With the studio completed, Mullen set about bringing in a collective of local musicians he met down the local pub to join his project. The 'Quiet Man' EP appears courtesy of No. 39 Records with songs ranging from the defiant 'Quiet Man' to the mysterious funk of 'Don't Let Go'. The 'Quiet Man' EP sounds like a man aware of the time trying to cram it full every molecule of wisdom he's gained from his life experience
