Hi I'm Al McKay, i'm a singer songwriter and FM radio presenter from Glasgow on the West coast of Scotland, i started trying to write songs not long after i got my first guitar for Xmas when i was 13, i played in a band in the late 70's early 80's, but had to get a real job, started a family but kept writing as a hobby when i could, then i got a chance a few years ago to record some of my old songs which has kick started my love of songwriting again.
Music has been in my life for as long as i can remember, it gives me the greatest pleasure.
To let people hear all the great undiscovered talent that's out there.
That we all love one another.
I Want To Hold Your Hand - The Beatles. It stopped me in my six year old tracks when i first heard it and it still does today.
Wow...From among others Jethro Tull, Neil Young The Moody Blues in the day, but nowadays, Rival Sons, Blackberry Smoke, Greta Van Fleet and The Temperance Movement.
I can't honestly say, it's just an urge, an itch i need to scratch.
No message specifically, just parts of my life put to music.
Scared that they won't like me, but that disappears after the first song.
Do it for the love of music, we'll never make a living off it. I wish local radios would support local musicians instead of all sounding the same playing the same old songs.
I think it's a fantastic site giving exposure to talented musicians who deserve to have their music heard by a larger audience.
My lack of ability, especially when i listen to the great musicians right here on Drooble
I go to see local acts in small venues when i can.
Sadly mainstream radio ignores new talent, that's why Drooble is the choice of up and coming new talent.
King King, Orbis Max, Emily Smith & The Ego Ritual.
