Agastya Bhardwaj

Story

Agastya Bhardwaj is an Independent Singer-Songwriter born in a very small town in India. Growing without a lot of money & failure in high school he was able to turn his experiences into inspiration through music. Started writing music & making beats in quarantine inspired by idol Justin Bieber. I upload beats, instrumentals with lofi & aesthetic videos to relieve someone's stress & anxiety. I want to spread positivity to those who are sad, struggling feeling down or heartbroken. I was never good at expressing emotions but music is the only way. I hope someone in the world will connect to it & it’ll heal their pain. Consistently uploading music, beats & entertaining videos on social media helped him cross 5M streams on all platforms, making him #1 artist from Hometown (Sonipat) & #7 Pop Artist from India (Reverbnation Charts). This is a story of a weirdo who thinks "I will change this world and heal millions of people with my music."

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is all I have in my life. Ever since I was a kid I used to sing and I was that weird kid who had no friends. I'm not good at expressing emotions & feelings so I sit down and write what I go through. I see people go through a lot of pain and sadness and I wanna be someone who can be there for them when no one else is. I don't want anyone to be alone and want to help and heal them in some way. I have this dream that I will heal millions of people with my music, one day.

What is your music dream?

I wanna heal millions of people with my music. Inspire those crazy kids whom no one believes in, impacting as many people as I can. My dream will is that one day a kid will come running towards me and say You are my idol, I never gave up because of you. You believed me when no one else did.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

First by changing myself when I will become a role model to the people I have to be a good person. I can't change the whole world but I can change and inspire the next generation. By impacting them I will inspire and innovate ideas in their minds and they will contribute to make this world a better place.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

When I was 11 I was introduced to Western Music. The song was Justin Bieber's Baby and it really inspired me. Justin is my idol and I really love his music style. The song has something special and close to my heart that can't be described but I'm a Belieber since then, that's for sure haha.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

I love and admire every musician and artist in the world. Every person who ever tried, an artist who makes music in their bedroom even no one listens to them. The most favorite artist is Justin Bieber I'm a Belieber ever since a kid and I love his music, his style, the strong and beautiful person he is now. His album Purpose made me understand the purpose of my life and how can I contribute to make this world a better place.

What inspires you to make music?

Aah, I'm really bad at expressing emotions but I do feel even tho I don't show it. I'm good at observing people things they go through so I try to put myself in their position and words just flow. Sometimes when I'm alone I pick up my notebook and write what I feel. No one listens to what I say but I guess music gives me my voice. The main reason to write music is so that someone who can't express their feelings can connect to my music and it may heal their pain.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

"Life is beautiful. Even though things may seem bad now but things will get better tomorrow." "You're not alone whatever you're going through, I'll always be there for you." "You don't need someone's approval or appreciation for whatever you believe in. Things may seem going opposite but keep going." "You can turn your pain into a blessing."

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Magical. I love to express myself through art and the energy and craziness of the crowd help me to keep going. When I see people came to see me and look up to me it motivates me to give them a night they can never forget. I never want to end the performance but you have to, haha.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

Musicians nowadays talk or write about fake scenarios or which are far from reality. Talking about drugs and guns at 16. A lot of teens are there who can't connect to it because it doesn't happen but they just intact to look cool. The most powerful audience is below 18 and we can't distract them with such songs, listening to such stuff makes them cool and they may intact in real life. Musicians are artists who should inspire the next generation not distract from their future.

What do you think of Drooble?

So far, i'm loving it I'm gonna stick around here for a long time. Love

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Nah, I'm happy with what I do. I don't complain and I love every single part of it.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Sadly I'm from such a place where gigs or such don't happen but whenever I'll get a chance I will in the front row. If I want people to wait and clap for me I have to do that first.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Authenticity. The most important thing is true music and loyal fans. A lot of musicians focus on numbers but forget about their fans. Even if you have 2-3 loyal fans who wait for your music every time you drop it is amazing. These fans are those who can take you to heights you can't even imagine.
