What is music to you? What does it give you?

To me, hip-hop music is a genre that combines elements of poetry, rhythm, and beats to create a unique form of expression. It gives me a sense of connection to the culture and history of the communities it emerged from and allows me to engage with the issues and perspectives it addresses. It also has the ability to bring people together and create a sense of unity through shared experiences and emotions. Additionally, hip-hop music is a powerful tool for self-expression and storytelling, giving a voice to marginalized communities and individuals.

What is your music dream?

My music dream is to be successful enough to have music be my full-time career. I would love to be able to dedicate all of my time and energy to creating and performing music, without having to worry about balancing it with other responsibilities. I want to be able to reach a wide audience and share my music with as many people as possible, while also being able to make a living doing something that I am passionate about. Additionally, I would love to be able to collaborate with other artists and musicians, and to continue to grow and evolve as an artist. Ultimately, my dream is to be able to fully immerse myself in the music and to be able to make a positive impact through my art.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

If I could change the world, I would start with creating more opportunities for local music communities to thrive and be recognized. I believe that local music scenes are incredibly important for fostering creativity, building community, and giving a platform for underrepresented voices. One of the things I would do is to create more funding and support for local music venues, events, and festivals. This could include things like grants for venue owners, tax incentives for businesses that support local music, and programs to help promote local artists. I would also work to improve the infrastructure and resources available to local musicians, such as recording studios, practice spaces, and music education programs. This would give musicians the tools they need to develop their craft and create their art. I would also like to work to create more opportunities for local musicians to collaborate and share their music with a wider audience. This could include things like streaming platforms that focus on local music, or initiatives that bring musicians from different local scenes together to perform and collaborate. I believe that by investing in local music communities, we can create a more vibrant and diverse music ecosystem that benefits everyone.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

When I perform in front of an audience, I feel invigorated. Enacting my completed ideas on stage and seeing the reaction of the audience is a unique and thrilling experience. The energy of the crowd feeds into my performance and makes it even more dynamic and engaging. It's a truly special feeling to be able to share my music with others and see it come to life in that way.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I see the musician's reality nowadays as one that is constantly evolving and adapting to new technologies and trends. However, I believe that there is room for improvement in terms of unity within the Hip-Hop genre. Street-level violence and beef between artists can detract from the power of the music and create a negative image for the genre as a whole. I think that bringing unity and collaboration between artists could help to elevate the genre and promote positivity and uplifting messages. This can be achieved by encouraging more co-creation, shared resources and working together to build a stronger and more inclusive community.

So far, Drooble is a great tool to focus on my career and network with others in my field who have the same passions as I do.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

As a musician, one of the things that frustrates me the most is the inability for some artists to align creatively. When people cannot see eye to eye on the creative vision, it can cause a lack of progression and hinder growth. Additionally, the saturation of the music industry is a constant challenge. With over 60,000 songs being released on Spotify daily, it can be hard to stand out as an artist. The sheer volume of music available makes it challenging for new and emerging artists to gain recognition and build a dedicated fan base. It becomes a constant struggle to be heard amongst the noise and make a name for oneself in the industry.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes, I support my local scene as a fan. One way I do this is by hosting a local podcast called "The Radar Theory Show." The podcast's first season features seven episodes in which I interview and showcase local artists. I believe that providing a platform for up-and-coming musicians to share their stories and music is a valuable way to support the local scene. Additionally, I also promote and book monthly shows called "The Hip-Hop Lounge" in Abilene, Texas. These shows are focused on highlighting local hip-hop artists and providing a space for them to perform and connect with fans. The events are always well-attended and provide a great opportunity for local artists to gain exposure and build their fan base. I believe that by providing these opportunities and supporting local artists, we can build a stronger and more vibrant music community.
