I'd love to tell you but couldn't even think of the right words.
A garage, a few like minded musicians and a case of beer.
Treat people around you well.
All the neighborhood kids gathered around a turntable at a neighbor's house. I was 7 at the time, didn't understand but everyone was going there so I knew it was important. We gathered around the turntable and I saw this apple spinning around and around which I thought was cool. It was during the release of Hey Jude. I couldn't appreciate the song back then but having so many people staring at a 45 spinning around stays in my memory. Today I do love that song.
The big band era from the early 1970s.
Just living
Hope you enjoy some of it.
Nothing like it...
Don't chase perfection, chase performance, flaws and all.
So far so good, still trying to learn my way around. Would appreciate a short primer if it exists.
Hearing something in your head and not having the chops to play it.
There's a couple of very small venues near me with 200 seats or so each. It attracts music stars from the past who no longer fill stadiums. I love watching these people up close. They're often at the top of their game, past the drug stage and really in it just to perform. You're no longer in a big stadium echo chamber , you're hearing actual guitar amps and drums, watching people play instead of tiny specs off in the distance. It's not supporting the local music scene but it does support local venues.
