Story

10fold is an artist from Bakersfield CA, located 2 hours north of LA. Raised and inspired by every type of music, he started writing poetry in 7th grade. During this time he played bass and sang in a band but started writing and recording rap/hip-hop music while in high-school. This is when he found the everlasting love for music creation. 10 has an intricate sound and is widely diverse due to the fact that all of his music sounds and feels different. He is determined to not be labeled by a sound but to create his own. He is signed to an independent label named Indigo House Records.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

I know every artist feels this way but music is therapy. Its a release from daily bullshit. It gives me a sense of happiness and fulfillment like nothing I have experienced before.

What is your music dream?

My dream is to speak to anyone and everyone through my creations. I want to sell out shows wherever I go, I want to be able to buy my mom a house, take my family around the world, invest into my community and spread love and positive vibrations. WE>ME

What inspires you to make music?

I think my biggest inspiration is my existence on this earth. I know what I love and what drives me to push myself everyday to attain what I want. They say you're here for a reason, I know mine.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Love, that's my biggest thing. Also, showing everyone that you can pursue a dream that you have. If you love it, why not make it your life?

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

It's a feeling like no other, when that rush of adrenaline hits you, its gametime. Everytime I hit the stage I bring as much energy as possible, always engaging the crowd and most importantly, we just trying to have some fun and spread love.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I think in the rap/hip hop scene is too focused on the abuse and glorification of drugs

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Writers block, definitely.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yeah of course, we show out and show love to everyone. If you aren't supporting each other as artists then your'e doing something wrong.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

I think a big component is making music that speaks to the listener. Great visuals are another piece to reaching a bigger audience. Another would be the quality of the music itself rather than the quantity.
